Application and characteristics: A two-component, water-based polyurethane varnish with a hardener. The varnish is used to create protective coatings on decorative plaster, mineral, cement, and brick surfaces. It can also be applied to wood surfaces. Ideal for application over Bergge Microcement. Designed to protect walls and floors in domestic spaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, and shower areas. It offers high wear resistance, very low water absorption, and is resistant to cleaning with household cleaning products. It is flexible but not very hard. Mechanical stress may leave dents and scratches.
Composition: Component 1 – special acrylic dispersion, water, functional additives; Component 2 – aliphatic polyisocyanate, functional additives.
Surface preparation: The surface must be uniformly prepared, sound, dry, and free of grease, dust, chalk, and lime. Remove mold, moss, and mildew mechanically and treat affected areas with an anti-mold treatment. Level uneven surfaces with Bergge Grandplast FX finishing putty. When applying to Bergge Microcement Mini or Bergge Microcement Maxi, prime the surface with Bergge Polyurethane 2K (gloss), diluted 35-40% with water. When applying to wood surfaces, clean the substrate to bare wood, sand and remove dust, then prime the surface with Bergge Polyurethane 2K (gloss) varnish, diluted 30% with water. Using materials from other manufacturers before or after applying Bergge brand materials may cause a loss of product properties.
Application Method: Mix component 1 and component 2 (mixing ratio: 100 parts component 1 to 32 parts component 2). Mix thoroughly, let sit for 5-10 minutes, and then mix again. For the first coat, add up to 5% water. Do not dilute the final coat. The varnish can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray gun. Apply 2 coats of varnish to walls, and 3 coats to floors, bathrooms, and shower enclosures. When applying to wood surfaces, apply 2-3 coats with sanding between coats. Use fine-grit sandpaper (#180-220). Remove dust thoroughly. During application and during the first 24 hours of drying, the ambient and substrate temperatures should be no lower than +7°C and no higher than +30°C. After drying, the surface temperature should be above +40°C.
Gloss: Matte.
Color: Colorless.
Average coverage: 8-10 m²/l of a single-coat coating (depending on the quality and type of substrate).
Drying time: 30 minutes – dust-resistant, 2 hours – touch-resistant, 24 hours – recoatable, 10-14 days – fully load-resistant. Drying time is dependent on temperature and humidity. These drying times are based on +20°C and a relative humidity of no more than 65%.
Tool cleaning: Rinse with water after use.
Storage: Store in a tightly sealed container at a temperature not below +7°C, in a cool, dry place. Protect from frost! The guaranteed shelf life is 2 years. The manufacturing date is indicated on the packaging.
Safety precautions: Wear protective clothing, gloves, and use respiratory and eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with water. Keep out of reach of children! Do not flush down the drain.
Important: Mix components 1 and 2 only together! The ready-to-use varnish can be used for up to 5 hours. After 5 hours, it is prohibited to use the finished varnish.
